L Photographie Portraits is a boutique photography studio located in the Central West End, with Kristie Cromie specializing in portraits of families, children and newborns. With a style that is modern, playful and fresh, Kristie will have you enjoying your photography session while creating timeless art of your family. "My mission as a professional photographer is to help you create finished art with your photography. We will get your photos out of the computer-world and into your home. Even if you purchase digital files from me, and are more of a DIY person, I will offer guidance. I fear our grandchildren's generation will one day come across too many discs and hard drives that will not fit into any device they own, and family photos will be forever lost and missed. So be it in custom framing, canvas gallery, or fine art album, I want to help preserve your family's memories and leave you walking into your home reminded of the beautiful souls that are your family. We take pride in the products, quality and service we offer to ensure your photographs last generations." Kristie is a member of the PPA (Professional Photographers of America) and often gives back to her community.
Family Photography Information: Kristie has a modern approach and style to her family photography. She likes to focus on interaction and creating genuine smiles and emotion in her subjects. Family is so important, and capturing images that show who you truly are as a family will be cherished and passed down for many generations. Family sessions are taken on location or in our natural light studio space in the Central West End.
Newborn photography information: Newborn sessions are taken in your home, or at our natural light studio.
The benefit of having an in home session, besides making it easier on you not to travel, is capturing photos of your nursery, and other special props or places around your home. We will bring a selection of our props and backdrops to use, as well as incorporate items from your home.
An in studio session takes less time, as everything will be set-up and ready to go before you arrive. You will also have access to all of our prop and backdrop options, and may still bring along some special items, blankets, baskets of your own to incorporate. Weather depending, we can also shoot outdoors around our studio. We have a comfy lounge area for you to hang and take feeding breaks for baby during our session.
Sessions generally last two or three hours. A newborn session is recommended during your first week home with baby. At this young age, your child is less likely to be disturbed while sleeping and much more cooperative at being positioned.
Maternity photography information: Maternity sessions are taken on location, in home, or in studio. On-location in a park or favorite city area. In home style would be more close-up window lit photos, and using places like your couch, bedroom, baby's room, and yard. In studio would be an indoor/outdoor mix. Indoor we have backdrop options in our natural light studio space, along with outdoor alleyways, vine walls, brick, etc location looks in short walking distance from our studio in the Central West End.
Sessions usually last around one hour. It is recommended we shoot around week 34 of your pregnancy.
Contact Kristie to get your due date on her calendar. An exact session date will be determined once baby arrives.

About Professional Photographer Kristie Cromie;
I am not one of those "emotional" girls. I don't cry when stressed or angry. But every time I see Extreme Home Makeover, even just the commercial preview, I cry. It's family that tugs at my heart strings. I know that in the end, family is all that matters. People matter. Kids matter. Whomever your family is, it's who you care about. Who you've built your life for and around. In the end, nothing else really matters. And it's because of this, I spend my time striving to capture the most beautiful, fun, honest, and artistic images for families. Not only capture them, but present them in a way I know will be cherished for many years, passed down for generations. As like I said, family is what matters. I am a member of the PPA (Professional Photographers of America) and have the pleasure of giving back to my community with this amazing career. I regularly donate my services to support children and families in the St. Louis area. I have a Journalism degree from Mizzou (go tigers!) and spent nine years as an Art Director for an Ad Agency in St. Louis before following my photography passion. I live in St. Louis city with my husband Mike, our little boy, Will (on the left), and two extremely spoiled cats. I am addicted to Sharpies and Liz's gooey butter cookies. Want to find out more about L Photographie and what we're up to? Visit us at our photo blog. We keep it up to date with all of our portrait and wedding shoots, along with anything else we think you'll find useful and fun.
We, at L Photographie, take pride in capturing memorable photos for your family. It's what tugs at our heart strings. It's why we do our job. And work really hard at it.
In this digital era, so many photographs never make it to the life of a print - and in this ever-changing digital age, we feel the best way to preserve photos for your family is the old-fashioned way … to print. Think about your Grandchildren finding a trunk of Photo CDs in your basement. What will they do with them? What would you do with a Floppy Disc right now? (eeek!) Now, what if your Grandchildren came across a beautiful box of archival ink prints that haven't faded? Now that's better. Yes?
When you're investing in professional photography, we feel it's important to find a photographer who cares about preserving your family's photo heritage with quality archival products - and not just throwing a disc your way. We know many of you, especially as busy parents, will let that disc sit doing nothing for months. So, let us do that legwork for you.
We will never hold your digital files hostage, and force you to purchase only prints. We do sell digital files, but give a set of prints with every digital package we sell. We feel it's super important. We never sell "just a disc," so please don't even ask. (wink).
We promise you won't regret having a set of beautiful, professional quality prints in your hand.
And now that you know we are going to take excellent care of you, and your family photo history, please get in touch with us to book your next photo session.

Wedding information: St. Louis Wedding Photographers Liz Sloan and Kate Hayes of L Photographie photograph Saint Louis Weddings with a lifestyle photography approach. Note that L Photographie is spelled with an "ie" vs. L Photography with a "Y"! We are not a French photography company, but we have decided to embrace it. The L in L Photographie stands for Love and our tagline avec l'amour means: with love. Because everything we do we do with love! We are mostly natural light photographers as we feel that this approach best captures the natural ambiance and emotion of an event. Our boutique photography studio is located in the Central West End (CWE) in the Consulate Art Building at the corner of Euclid and Washington Avenues. We have been in the St. Louis wedding photography industry in St. Louis for over 10 years and have photographed over 350 weddings at location such as the Coronado Ballroom and Chase Park Plaza. The Renaissance Grand Crystal Ballroom is one of our personal favorites as is the Four Seasons St. Louis. We encourage all of our St. Louis Wedding Parties to head outside to places such as Forest Park and it's many acres of nature preserves and Washington University for it's beautiful architecture. We are preferred vendors on the preferred vendors list with the amazing staff at Catering St. Louis. Catering St. Louis offers a wide variety of some of the best wedding venues in St. Louis including The Artists' Guild in Oak Knoll Park, the Visitors Center (also known as the Lindell Pavilion) Trolly Room in Forest Park, the Jewel Box in Forest Park, City Cottage downtown, Three Barn Farm in Clarksville, MO, Oliva on the Hill with it's modern Napa flair and Wisteria covered pergola, and the magnificent Missouri Botanical Gardens (MOBOT) with their Monsanto Hall and Spink Pavilion. We are engrained in the St. Louis Wedding Vendor community and are happy to recommend our favorite St. Louis wedding vendors in many categories. St. Louis wedding cakes and bakeries such as Sugaree Baking Company, The Cakery Bakery and Sarah's Cake Shop are a few of our favorites for custom cakes and delectable sweets. BBJ Linens offers the very best selection for wedding table linens in our book. We love working with a variety of St. Louis florists including but not limited to Barb at Bloomin' Buckets with her clean and fresh classic floral style, Jane at Wildflowers and her natural, loose and botanical approach, Lisa Molitor at Belli Fiori who recently moved into a space in Floral Row is a very talented St. Louis florist and a good friend, we have been working with Rich West of RW Designs since the very beginning, Randy at Artistry Florist is certainly a master of his trade as is Frankie at Festive Atmospheres. We would be remiss if we didn't include the lovely Emily Trestrake at Sisters Flowers for all of the beautiful St. Louis wedding bouquets and St. Louis wedding centerpieces we have photographed of hers over the years. We have seen some gorgeous arrangements from Becky Huffman Flowers as well as Tina Barerra Special Event Florist too! Of course an event isn't complete without the finishing touches and to that we look to the masters in St. Louis wedding event lighting, draping and design by Exclusive Events, the Aries Company and Contemporary Productions. Rent lounge furniture, special bars and more for your St. Louis Wedding. For the best in St. Louis Wedding Bands you must check out Downtime Productions, Arvell and Company, Acolade Band and Galaxy Band. We agree that the very best St. Louis DJ's are single owner operated and we stand behind Chris Johnson of CJ's DJ's, Jimmy Hussey A Rockin' DJ and Jeremy Roeder. St. Louis Brides must visit hair and makeup artists for their big day and for specialty shoots such as St. Louis Engagement sessions, St. Louis Boudoir Photography and Wedding Love or Trash the Dress photography sessions. We highly recommend Emily Miller Makeup, Bonnie Boze hair and Danielle Erb of Danielle Style. We are one of many wedding photographers in St. Louis, but we take a very limited number of customers each year so that we can offer each our very best. Every St. Louis bride should consider a wedding planner to help with everything from event design to just making sure the big day runs smoothly from beginning to end.
