Keri + Chris {by liz}

I had a GREAT time hanging with Keri and Chris on their wedding day! I think this was one of my “easiest” days this year with the least amount of running on my part. Everything happened on schedule and that probably has something to do with us/them scheduling enough time for everything (which is definitely in part thanks to Lacy Branch and team!) That being said, it was a scorcher. Shocking I know considering it’s currently 99 degrees outside while I type this. But we moved quickly and got plenty of great shots before everyone melted!

Keri and got ready at the Fleur de Lys Mansion in Compton Heights. It is literally less than a mile from my house and I have never been there! It is filled with beautiful antiques. And then it was off to St. Cecilia’s in south city for the ceremony, followed by dinner and dancing at the Piper Palm House in Tower Grove Park. Actually, I think everything happened within a mile of my house. Huh. Funny. I like it. Enjoy the photos!

Happy Keri!

One of my new favorite shoe photos ever. Keri got ready at the Fleur de Lys Mansion in Compton Heights and they had some beautiful antique furniture.

Oops – need to add the petticoat.

Reason 1 to choose VERY close friends for bridesmaids: You never know when they will need to be tying or buttoning something with their head up your dress with their face only inches from your buttocks. Reason number 2: They will probably have to help you pee at some point.

And the bride has arrived! Keri walking into St. Cecilias with a little assistance from the fabulous Lacy Branch and Keri’s mama.

Moving on to the second, but no less important half of this duo – the handsome Mr. Schrimpf!

Awwww…mother in law to be moment.

I LOVE this bouquet by my good friend Lisa Molitor at Belli Fiori Florist on the Hill!

St. Cecilias is a gorgeous church. It has been known as a mostly hispanic congregation but in the last few years has been kind of “discovered” as a beautiful church for Catholic weddings in south St. Louis. The mosaics are delicately intricate and the checkerboard aisle makes for striking shots!

Wait, what is that hand signal? I know this one…steal second? Sacrifice bunt? Oh need rings quickly!

Got em!

To me there is something about Chris’ face in this one that says “Ok, it’s done now. You’re stuck with me forever!”

Sometimes I think the “almost kiss” shot is more romantic than the actual kiss shot.

In this case I like both. :)

Fave staircase at St. Cecilias.

Beautiful Keri.

We were the last wedding of the day at St. Cecilias, and while we were wondering around in back taking a few shots in the stairwell, they turned off the lights and got ready to close shop. When we came back out, the cathedral was mostly dark except for a beam of light streaming in from one stained glass window. So I put Keri and Chris in it and the effect was both serene and breathtaking (in my personal opinion!)

Go in peace.

Sorry Chris but I need a few more pics of your wife. She is beautiful!

Off to the park for a few quick photos! It was quite warm so we worked fast, but got plenty of great stuff!

The one on the right is one of my favorites!

And off to get a few detail shots of the reception space at the Piper Palm House in Tower Grove Park!

Seriously, how gorgeous are the sugar flowers on this cake from Patty Cakes?!

Fun toasts!

Keri and Chris were great “first dancers.” There was lots of smiling, hugging and kissing. Makes my job easy. :)

Dance party into the night with DJ extraordinaire Chris Johnson! Love the butterfly gobos on the floor. Congratulations Keri and Chris!
