St. Louis Children’s Family Photographer.
And nothing says summer like this session. A little t-ball in the park, big wheels, slides, swing sets, and ICE CREAM!
(I must add, that I’ve been telling myself to narrow down my blog selections so it doesn’t take as much time to post them… but I could NOT help myself with this one. wow. A ton of shots I love, and a great looking, fun family, so I couldn’t help myself!)
Now… on with the photos…

I was excited the family was up for getting some ice cream with me… and EXACTLY what I was hoping for happened… all over the face. Makes for some good photos!

by the way… notice Dad here now has a different ice cream in hand. And the “looks” he is getting from stealing it from Mom : ) Ha.
note: It was some Apple Sundae special that was the big hit. (And I went back with my husband the next week to try it out. Awesome.)

St. Louis Children’s Photography.

BOY!
There have been lots of bellies of boys lately, so we’ll see lots of tiny ones later in July : )

This was a fun session where we got to include Dad-to-be and the soon-to-be “big brothers.” I have a feeling these are going to be some good watch dogs for this little guy! We also ventured over to the Busch Wildlife area … where we had to walk very softly around momma goose with her little babies … who were of course right near my perfect light ; ) All ended safely.

Enjoy the preview!

Nicole & Tim (by liz)

June 24, 2009

I think Nicole and Tim had the last pretty St. Louis weekend before the city turned into a slow cooker. Good choice guys! The girls got ready that morning in a suite downtown at the Renaissance Grand. Nicole was cracking me up – I’m taking photos of her veil being put on and she’s reaching for the pineapple. But that must be why she has a beautiful figure and me, not so much – I would be reaching for the cookies! Then everyone is wisked off to St.Gabriel’s in St. Louis Hills for a beautiful ceremony. We headed to Forest Park for a few photos in the middle…we were going to do a few more but Tim hijacked the party bus. Ha! I always tell people that the day isn’t about the photos – it’s about the wedding, spending time with friends and fam and just having a great time. Tim was done with photos and so be it!

I love shooting at this time of year because it stays light so much longer. Which meant a sunset dinner at Windows on Washington. It almost makes it feel like we could have been at some tropical location with the way the warm light washed into the room. But no beach here – just a river! And a beautiful newly married couple. Congrats you two!

a

Shoes, shoes and more shoes! I think that it is tough to take a BAD picture of shoes.

b

What’s the chance of this – exact same earrings as Emily from the weekend before except Emily’s were silver and Nicole’s were gold. And I loved them both with all of the shiny little stones smiling back at me!

c

Believe it or not I did not tell the adorable little flower girl to stand in the window. She just did…model in the making?! Also, does anyone else think that Tim could be Natialie Portman’s long lost brother? I don’t know what it is, but I swear they have some of the same genes buried in there somewhere!

d

Ok, this photo actually made me laugh out loud (literally) when I was editing the photos. It was one of the more humorous parts of the day watching the groomsmen try to pin flowers on each other, but something about both of their faces in this one just pushed me over the top.

e

Beautiful ceremony.

f

And beautiful flowers. Sometimes I love the intricately designed bouquets and sometimes I just cherish simple bouquets made from almost all one flower. When you bunch together all of the same color is really adds a huge pop!

g

And these are both examples of beautiful natural light. Love it. I coudn’t create that wonderful diffused light on the left if I tried.

h

All of the beautiful bridesmaids laughing it up in the park!

i

Tons of fabulous girliness.

j

I don’t think I’ve ever gotten lucky enough to actually have a bride with a long veil on a windy day – but it finally happened and it was grogeous! Enjoy the next few…

k

m

Cake and matching chair ties to pull in the colors.

n

And a little orange and green here and there to pull in the other colors!

o

And here’s that sunset I was talking about. Just looking at it makes me want to take a deep breath and relax.

p

Beautiful day you two – thank you for letting me hang around!

The Knot Magazine has really been good to us over the last few years.  This is the 3rd wedding we’ve had featured and the 5th time our photos have appeared in the magazine.  We love seeing our work in print!  We can only take a little tiny bit of credit though.  I’ve had some opportunities to shoot some beautiful weddings filled with interesting (and time consuming!) details.  Thanks to the couples like Val & Bob here that put so much effort into doing things differently and standing out from the pack!  Check it out…

Let me start by saying Blake and I have known each other for about, oh (wheels turning…math in head…may need calculator) at least 6 years. AND he has always been one of my favorite people…sweet, funny and just an overall good person. No I am not saying these things because he’s seen me on winery trips (although I figure it can’t hurt!) I really mean it! So one really good person deserves another really good person right? You know, that whole karma thing? Well he found it in Sara. She is sweet, smart and just one of those people you like right off the bat. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in November!

Ok, enough mushy stuff…wait until you see what these two were willing to do for a good photograph! I think I’ll stop talking now…

Liz and I had the pleasure of donating our photography services this past Sunday for the Buddy Walk in Forest Park. There are always so many cheerful kids and fun families at this event! The Buddy Walk is DSA’s major fund raiser of the year to support the DSA of St. Louis and their families. If you missed out, you can always give your support here: how to help.

We have the full day of photos at this link: Buddy Walk 2009 Photos

St. Louis Family & Children’s Photographer

I took a little trip down to Ste. Genevieve to hang out with these fun kiddos! They always show me a good time & come up with super cute photo ideas. We hung at their house for a while, then went over to the family’s lake property… just beautiful… and a little dangerous climbing down into the lake spillway, but totally worth it!

Thanks again for lunch Steph & hope you like your sneak peek!

I love this idea for a photo shoot! Just the girls. Mom and her daughters left all the boys at home.
This family purchased an auction package I donated to a local school charity. And I’m glad they did! Look at how photogenic all of them are : ) They made my job easy that day!

Mom and girls… I hope you enjoy your preview here. I’ll have the album design coming your way soon!

So I don’t have any sisters… (just 4 brothers)… but this sister photo below is so amazing to me! I thought sisters at this age would only torture each other ; ) I LOVE this shot of them.

OK… here it is. A little tickle torture…

Such an adorable little girl… this is Daisy. We had to let her sleep on Daddy’s chest for a while to get her calm, but once she fell asleep we were able to pass her around in all sorts of positions.

Hope you like the sneak peek … more coming your way soon!

We’ve been seeing lots of growing bellies lately, which is so exciting to capture this special time for a new family. Liz and I teamed up on this shoot, which we love doing, as we feed off each other on ideas… and Shannon was up for ANYTHING… and we always love that! Those photos we’re saving just for Shannon ; )
Shannon also has this amazing ability to laugh on cue. Seriously. All I had to say was “laugh” and she would give me the most genuine laugh. I’m thinking she needs to switch careers and be an actress!
Hope you two enjoy the preview… Can’t wait to meet your baby boy once he arrives!
