St. Louis Children’s Photography.

Look how gorgeous these blue eyes are! I honestly did nothing special to them in Photoshop!
She was not quite walking at our photo shoot, but looked like she could take off at any minute. She would get so excited about standing on her own, it was so cute : )

Baby Grant (by kristie)

St. Louis Newborn Photography.

It’s time to start baby-palooza posting! Meet Grant. One of four newborn boys I photographed within one week. His head of hair is amazing. I love it! He is so darn adorable – congrats Lisa & Matthew!

this is the first baby to “smile” at me when I did this to them… (usually they scream ; )

St. Louis Family Photography.

This was one family I really had to keep up with! These boys are a ball of energy, but so fun. We ran around the park for an hour, and hopefully wore them out into a good nap later for mom and dad : )

Here’s the sneak peek…

I think this photo sums up the family pretty good. To me, that is the “perfect” family photo.

Tyler (by kristie)

St. Louis Children’s Photography.

I took a little trip to Tyler’s house to play in the backyard. He has the coolest swing set! I actually don’t even know what they call “swing sets” these days that have everything… slides, ladders, ropes, everything… but you get my point. Well, Tyler was not too hip on going down the slide just yet, but he LOVED the swings!

And he loves puppy kisses…
st_louis_child_photography_tyler3

I have to tell you, all three of them here are waiting for a piece of cheese. Yes, cheese. Mom is standing over my right shoulder holding a slice of cheese. I was very impressed to see how it worked! : )

Then we got ready to play in the sprinkler… but Tyler was not into it. I still think this photo is cute. It is just very real… fear of the sprinkler.
st_louis_child_photography_tyler7

But then he got wrapped in his puppy towel and the world was good again! (I love these two shots)

I had the pleasure of shooting another great wedding at Oliva! Laura and Dave are awesome together…fun, comfortable, laid back and natural. You can tell they just mesh together. Laura isn’t the kind of girl who likes to do things just like everyone else. Her wedding dress was handmade just for her…she was actually sewn into it after she put it on! The simple bouquets of calla lillies contained peacock feathers and were equipped with stretchy crystal bracelets and placed on the bridesmaids and bride’s wrists. The blue silk ribbon was carried through everything including the bouquets, programs, invites and cake. And it all came together perfectly! I’m going to keep my commentary short on the photos this time and let them speak for themselves. Congrats you two!

Starting it off with…what else?! Shoes!

Cool bouquets as described above.

Laura’s skin is creamy and beautiful in black & white shots!  I probably have more black & white photos in this wedding than most because her skin is just perfect for it.IMG_3602bw

And this is one of my favorites.  When I was editing the photos and saw this one I turned the computer to my husband and said “I think he loves her…what do you think?”IMG_3788bw

Such a great space…IMG_3816

Oliva has these fabulous walls that I just LOVE shooting against.  They are kind of a terra cotta color but the lighting makes for great black & white shots too.IMG_4049bw

An all around fabulous evening.  Thanks for letting me be a part of it!

So everyone here in St. Louis is watching the Home Run Derby and so far it’s been quite impressive! My husband is sitting next to me on the couch and keeps asking “did you see that?!” or “you have to see this!” while I’m trying to work here. Talk about a distraction! At least he’s cute…that totally makes up for it. Speaking of cute, check out these two! Andy should be glad Kelsey thinks he’s cute too or he might have gotten belted after the ice cream cone stunt. Personally I think it makes for GREAT photos though! Check it out!

St. Louis Children’s Photography.

I am very excited to share these photos of little Henry with you! I took a drive out to, what I swear was in Arkansas (kidding JP), but really near the Meramec Caverns to photograph this 1 week old for some friends. He is absolutely precious and has the best head of fuzzy hair.
I love it.
Enough typing… on with the photos…

This little guy was wide-eyed the whole time. He didn’t want to fall asleep and miss any of the action.

Seriously, did not want to sleep. He’s only a week old and so alert : )

Congratulations on your perfect little guy!

St. Louis Children’s Photography.

This was a part maternity, part family shoot. And what a great family! Can’t wait to meet the new addition once he arrives.

This material behind mommy is going in the baby’s room. Very cool.

What’s in here?

saint_louis_children_photography_02

A new brother!

And this was a little experiment… I wanted to try some new belly painting ideas. And I think our “little helper” was a bit too young for this, as she just stabbed mom with the paint brush. Ouch! SO SORRY LIZ!

saint_louis_children_photography_04

Then we took a short drive to Tower Grove Park and ran around for 15 minutes. Really, only 15. It was so HOT outside that day.

Love this profile shot of mommy.

Hey – ok so I have really been putting off blogging lately. However, I am stoked to share this one! Such a sophisticated couple and just an all around awesome day. So many cool little details. The girls got ready at the most gorgeous home I have ever been in…the Overton Residence is one of those homes (or um castles) you drive by and just can’t help but wonder how beautiful it must be inside. The guys put on their tuxes at the couple’s downtown loft. The sun went under a nice fluffy cloud just about the same time the ceremony began at the Grand Basin in Forest Park (and the heat hit this weekend so that was a huge blessing!) Top it off with a hip reception at Lumen on Locust sporting the longest table I have ever seen. Both Sarah and Jassen enjoy eastern culture and chose florals and food stations to highlight the geographical region. Not to mention they topped off the night with a gelato bar and some Whiteys. And I’m not even naming all of the cool little extras these two put into their special day. Props to Rachel McCalla of Lucky You Productions for a fabulous event.  Absolutely lovely!

1

See – castle. Need I say more?

2

Designer Nicole Miller dress. I could never pull it off…Sarah looked absolutely perfect in it!

3

I love it when I can highlight beautiful shoes with funky fabric. I could wonder around for hours taking photos of the same pair of shoes in every corner but I never seem to have the time. Must start arriving earlier.

4

I LOVED Sarah’s jewelry. I wonder if I can talk her into letting me borrow it sometime. It set off the dress perfectly!

5

A few last minute touches with the guys (courtsey of my partner Kristie who second shot all day on this one!)

8

The pre-ceremony festivities included a “champagne stroll” for guests around the Grand Basin. Unfortunately due to the weather there was very little strolling and more huddling in a few shady spots BUT the champagne still flowed nicely!

7

6

9

10

This is one of my new favorites. It was nice to be able to get so up close and personal as Sarah came down the aisle.

11

Kristie got this one from the other side – so much love. I really never get sick of this stuff. Damn I am a cheese ball.

12

13

14

And a few city shots on our way to Lumen for the reception.

15

16

17

18

19

See – longest table ever! Jassen rattled off the exact dimensions of this thing and it didn’t stick. All my brain comprehended was “really long.” That’s what happens when a creative person meets an architect. Ha!

20

22

I was able to get a couple of great shots in the middle of the street outside of Lumen. It was that time of day where there is just a wee bit of blue left in the sky before it turns black.  The valet dudes were looking at me like I was crazy practically laying in the street but it was totally worth it.

21

Kristie was able to get to the reception space a little early and take some kick ass photos of the space and the details before anyone arrived.

23

25

Dance Party!

24

Toasts and such…

26

Mmmmmmm…gelato. I’ve gotta figure out where they got this. I want one at home.

27

Oh god – shots. Seeing that many lined up just gave me a flashback to my 21st birthday.  Thanks for a great day you guys!

An L photographie photo of an Artistry bouquet from an Alred Wedding Consultants wedding is the bouquet of the week on the Saint Louis Bride Magazine blog. Check it out here! How’s that for some linkage?!
