Just a heads up to my clients waiting on their portrait sessions from November … I am going to skip some blogging in order to get your photo galleries done quicker. You’ll be getting links to your galleries throughout this week.

And to those just wanting to see some photos … I will do a mass posting after my clients that booked before my Holiday deadline have their photos. So there will be lots of photos to see next week!

And to my clients … a little warning … I MUST GET YOUR PRINT ORDERS IN BY DECEMBER 9 to promise their delivery arrival before Christmas Eve. If you are leaving town for the holidays and need them by a certain date, please write that in your ‘Customer Notes’ section when ordering.

Questions… email Kristie.

Thanks!
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving
and Happy Holiday decorating!

I’m posting a little out of order, but HAD to post this one photo… a PERFECT example of why you want your newborn photographed as young, and sleepy, as possible! This pose is totally impossible without those two factors.

I’m so glad I finally got this pose to work. This is my goal pose with every baby under 1 week : )

You’ll see more of this adorable little girl soon!

Sarah & Tim | by liz

November 18, 2009

Sarah and Tim were so much fun to work with! We had to reschedule 3 times thanks to the great rains of 2009. Seriously – will it ever stop?! So the third time (a charm as always), it’s not raining. It’s not sunny, it looks like it could start again at any moment, but it’s not raining. I brought my giant umbrella just incase. We get a few little itsy bitsy sprinkles about 10 minutes in. But it gets better…MUCH better. We are almost done when all of a sudden this warm light begins to peek out from behind a cloud. I am of course taking a photo of their shoes at the time and pop up and yell – “Quick! The yellow tree!!!” Can you blame me for believing this beauteous light would be fleeting at best?! But we got it. And we got a basketball. And a letter. And a cupcake. And some coffee. And an umbrella. We were busy! Actually, Sarah and Tim were busy being cute as hell and I was just lucky enough to be there for it. Enjoy!

Triplets. Amazing. Amazing Mother … and whole family that helps out … that is! These three are so darn cute, and so wanted to be “on the move”. It is hard work to keep three little babies all in a row and happy ; )

Megan and Buddy | by liz

November 15, 2009

My second Cohen sister of the year and her new husband Buddy showed up to play and didn’t disappoint on this beautiful fall day! I use the sports reference because I must. You see, Buddy and his groomsmen (some or at least most) apparently went to Florida for college. AND there was a big Florida game on that day. So all of the men sacrificed their love of football for their love of Buddy that day…well sort of. More on that topic below. The wedding and reception took place at the Marriott West in Maryville Center. After some final getting ready shots with the ladies, Megan and Buddy saw each other in their wedding garb and we headed out to Faust Park for a few shots. It’s funny – I used to get out west more but lately most of my weddings have been in the downtown/central St. Louis region. So I haven’t gotten to use Faust much but it has some great spots. Like this old home and barn you’ll see below. And wedding party really didn’t complain when I asked them to walk on the equivalent of mush. We are talking mid October here and if you St. Louisans remember correctly, we broke all kinds of rain records by about mid October. So although it wasn’t raining, we were dealing with it’s mushy aftermath. BUT I’m certainly not complaining and you’ll see why below…enjoy!

Let’s start with a pair of the most beautiful earrings I have ever seen and a fun pair of shiney shoes. Megan – I was serious about that offer I made for the earrings.  Some girls have bag envy…I have shiney thing envy.  And I know shiney isn’t spelled with an “e” but I like it better that way so I’m going with it.

This is the side detail of her dress – more shiney!

2

Shiney things are everywhere!

3

Megan – you are beautiful.

4

And this is the beautiful bracelet Megan received as a wedding gift from her thoughtful groom. It even color coordinates!

5

Off to the mushy park! Totally worth it.

On the way back down Olive I noticed this field…right next to Ya Ya’s. It looks like we are in the middle of the country on a serene day doesn’t it? Nope – cars zipping down Olive about 20 feet away.

13

Oh happy day! FLORIDA WINS! FLORIDA WINS! Now we can finally start this wedding thing about 10 minutes late. Ha!

14

Yay – married!

15

Beautiful reception details. Mmmmm….caramel apples.

16

I had to put a shout out to the parents of the bride in here. BOTH daughters married within 6 months of each other. And they still look happy! It’s a wedding miracle!

17

Sistas.

The toasts did not disappoint. Props to the best man and maid of honor. I had a very tough time deciding which of these to put on here…so many good ones. However, this one is here for a different reason. I feel like I ALMOST got the perfect shot. You see there on the left is speak no evil and the dude in the middle is see no evil. If only the guy on the right had done his part and gone the earmuff route. Maybe next time. This time we have a double blind. Love is blind you know…

It’s going to rain, no it’s not, yes it is… on my drive to Kirkwood. It started to clear up a bit, so since Trevor was already dressed to the nines, we decided to give it a go. Trevor is in love with trains, and apparently the Kirkwood Market, as he liked to go every week this October ; ) So it was the perfect spot for our photos…

Alex 2010 Senior (by kristie)

November 11, 2009

St. Louis High School Senior Portraits.

I love photographing Seniors. There is so much variety to be had in a couple hours – and this is such a cool age to remember (even though they may not think so right now ; )
Alex did an awesome job modeling for her Senior photos. We wandered all over the St. Charles Main Street area and got extremely lucky on the weather (after our first try was rained out).

Hope you enjoy your preview!

Whew – I finally made it back on the blog! So a week and one day ago I woke up to a blank computer screen. You know that sinking feeling you get in the pit of your stomach as the panic starts to set in? Yeah, I had that. Although I must say, not nearly as bad as I would have if I wasn’t pretty stellar now a days at backing up files. However, that means I’m missing the computer that I use for MOST of my everyday work and it has a bunch of special little things that I am going to miss for awhile. Such as bookmarks and remembered passwords. I had to call Kristie to find out how to get in here. But I’m starting to feel like I’m getting back into the groove. And what better way to start but with this groovy couple Kiley and Tim (I know – I’m a dork but I couldn’t resist). Kiley is an art director and specifically asked me for some dramatic lighting. So light and fall were our two main goals in most of these. Check it out!

So when I got a message from this little guy’s Mom that he runs so fast, she mostly has photos of the top of his head… I must admit I was a little nervous, but ready to be light on my feet! Luckily, I was able to keep up with him and catch his adorable laugh! And if a kid ever runs too fast, put them in a swing… then you’ll know exactly where they’ll be going ; )

Hope you enjoy your preview…

A Sunny Sunday (by kristie)

November 3, 2009

St. Louis Family Photography.

We did have a couple nice weather days in October, although I know it is hard to remember. (I don’t want to jinx it, but November is behaving wonderfully so far! I know it’s only the 3rd ; )

Here was a beautiful day for a family session in Webster Groves. We hit a small pumpkin patch for some October fun, then off to play in the leaves.

Hope you enjoy the sneak peek!
