Stacia + Dave Wedding {by kristie}

I have a fun, warm, sunny wedding day to share today! I was super happy to head to Mexico with my husband and a bunch of friends this March to capture the “tying of the knot” between my good friends Dave + Stacia.  A fun couple from Chicago, you may remember from their engagement session {here}, we shot around the Central West End.

For the wedding, we stayed at the beautiful Playacar Palace in the Riviera Maya. And I have to tell you, white fluffy sand NEVER gets old to me! My husband & I actually got married in Destin, Florida, so we are huge fans of a beach wedding. Very glad Dave + Stacia took it a step further and made us all leave the country ; )

Enough chatter, on with the sunny wedding …

Maracas and a Mexican hat full of goodies in each guest room to welcome everyone:

The AH-mazing scenery off my balcony before the wedding festivities begin, and a tree branch in the shape of an “H” I ran into, as their last name is Hart, it caught my eye:

A beautiful letterpress invitation suite. I have a sweet-spot for letterpress. (self-proclaimed paper snob here)

Jewelry hanging in a palm tree. Never a bad thing.

I loved seeing the ceremony site on the beach in the reflection next to her dress. It makes me very happy when photo ops like that happen! {insert Liz & Kate jealous face. wink.}

The boys hanging out and doing what they do. Laughing a lot.

And I could not resist a sunburn photo. Ouch.

Now it’s “go time” for the girls. Let’s get this bride in her beautiful dress!

With help from her sisters…

So lovely! This one makes me just say ahhhhhhh… (and thank you bird for flying by at the perfect moment)

So, while I was on the beach photographing the rings, chatting with some friends laying out, Lisa noticed the guys getting ready just above the girls. Perfect! A photo op. to have the bride & groom together without seeing each other.
… Which is why I have the bride hidden to the right. I did not trust Dave to not look down. A few wandering groomsmen eyes too. You know who you are. Tony.

And, now for a private “first look” at each other. Look how excited and cute they are. I can’t get over it.

Then meeting up with the wedding party for a toast and some photos.

A little groomsmen kiss never hurt anyone.

Now, off to get married!

Location. Location. Location. Love.

It’s time! A very well done ceremony by friend & Officiant Matt.

A little music by friend, Kemp.

And here comes the bride!

I believe this wedding might include the most laughs and big smiles I’ve ever witnessed. I love that.

The Seven Blessings for their ceremony – they asked honored guests to write a little something. I don’t believe the Bride or Groom knew what would be said, until they were standing there being wed. It was very touching, and brought a lot of laughs … especially the “laughter” topic.

These were the Seven Blessings:
Respect, Patience, Compromise, Affection, Devotion, Laughter and Partnership

I love this photo. (Thanks for the laugh Dru!)

Time for the rings!

A break of the glass…

A kiss…

And married!

A quick toast with every guest … (and a random guy in a hat who didn’t realize he was in my photo)

Then a few more moments alone while everyone is off to cocktail hour.

Now. If anyone is *allowed* to draw a heart in the sand on their wedding day, it’s these two. As they are now Mr. & Mrs. Hart.

*funny sidenote; As Dave sees the message in the bottle with their names, he says, “Who made this!? They spelled our last name wrong! Enter Stacia, the bride, “Oh no. It was me!” Ha. Ha. Whoops.

Now to get the party started.

A little dancing.

A little toasting.

A little laughing.

Then lots and lots and lots more dancing …

This little flower girl had the MOST amazing crowd-pleasing “gangnam style” dance down.

Note: One of these girls does not have a real mic. Hee.

Then, after all the dancing, we moved the party indoors for a little karaoke and even more dancing.

What an amazing wedding day. Thank you Dave + Stacia for having me capture every part!
With love, Kristie
