Deborah + Sam wedding {by liz}

Looking through these photos after I got them all in here made me smile. No seriously, I was scrolling through to make sure everything made it in correctly and suddenly realized I had a little grin on my face.  Having realized this, I went back through again and did some smile counting.  There are smiles EVERYWHERE in these photos.  And sincere smiles, not “pose for the camera” smiles.  I truly thought Deb was a prim and proper kind of gal until I got to know her a little better throughout the day (hee!)  Turns out this beautiful porcelain doll (aka Dirty Deb to some of her college friends) is much more than meets the eye.  Which also explains the twinkle behind many of those smiles.  Sam surprised me too!  At first impression, I assumed Sam was a guy that crosses his t’s, dots his i’s and basically has everything under control.  But he turns into a completely different, relaxed, quick to laugh (and maybe even cry a little) person around Deb.  I love the way he looks at her. Let’s see if you agree with my assessment!

Deb’s dress was exquisite.  I have never seen anything quite like it.  The overlay was head-to-toe intricate silver stitching.  Olia Zavozina from Simply Elegant Bridal.

A few laughs with mom and sisters while getting dressed.  Which may have been preceded by a boob grab.  Ahhh…sisters. ;)

Lovely Deborah.

Sam and Deb wanted a private first look.  Which I think is wonderful, sweet and intimate even though it made me sad not to capture it.  I could hear it from behind my door though and it was perfect.

The party!  I LOVE these colors.  Flowers to the People used my favorite color of dalia too!

Deb and Sam were married underneath a canopy of trees outside of The Muny in Forest park.  But before we head out there…the Ketubah signing.

Don’t kill me Sam, but I love this face.  The pressure of signing the marriage license just right!

One of my favorite photos of the day.  Smiles abound.

Shepard hooks with simple herbs and greens lead the way to the ceremony.  It was the weekend of The Great Forest Park Balloon Race so M Haley Designs incorporated little hot air balloons into the designs.

The canopy of the Chuppah was made of handkerchiefs Deborah’s grandmother brought with her when they fled Germany.

Cute globe guestbook idea!  And fitting since these two have lived and have made friends across many oceans.

Beautiful reception set up in the Muny Culver Pavilion.  My first time shooting here!  And of course with Simcha Lourie involved it looked amazing.

Sam is making the face I would be making if this was happening to me.  It’s not the height…it would be the lack of control over the people hoisting me into the air.
