Lucy + Dan {by liz}

Oh how I love the holiday season! If only I had more time to take it all in. But I still try to find a moment here or there to sit back, sip a glass of wine and bask in the calming glow of a Christmas tree. Life is too short not to have those kinds of moments. The tough thing about the holidays is lack of time. Which is why Lucy and Dan have had their photos for a few weeks and I am just now getting to their blog post. But it did not seem fair to hold their photos hostage while I worked on getting their blog “preview” up! So instead it is more of a “post-view”. But that makes it no less special!

Lucy and Dan were married at the Church of Immacolata – Lucy’s family church. And then capped off the day at one of my favorite locations, Oliva on the Hill. So here we go!

Pretty dress and pretty shoes. I am a girly girl. I love this stuff.

Shiny things + reflective surface = double shiny.

Dan and friends were awesome. Most grooms are a little camera shy or at least slightly uncomfortable with having their photos taken. Not this group. Hams. Total hams.

Unwrapping “best” gift ever.

Talking Jersey Shore Pen. Yes, she really did. For the record she also gave him a pretty awesome Armani watch, however, I call photographers choice. I’m going pen. :)

Back to more serious business….the dress!

Beautiful Lucy. We had some dress drama right in here (an actual piece was missing!) but in the end, thanks to some ingenuity and a pair of scissors everything came together perfectly. Lucy handled it all like a pro!

Lucy got a little somethin’ from a place called Tiffany’s. Well played Dan. Well played.

Here comes the bride!

I had never been inside the Church of the Immacolata. It was very cool! I felt a little bit like I was in a spaceship. But what I loved most about it was the way light reflected on the faces of the wedding party at the altar. Some of the best church lighting I have ever encountered.

Tear.

It’s official!

Bubbles!

The outside of the church was constructed of some sort of stone or concrete that looked whitewashed. We had to take advantage of it for just a few quick shots!

Believe it or not – no artificial light here. Just beautiful light reflecting off of that white washed wall. Love.

One more in the parking lot. Yes, I said parking lot. AND one of my new favorites!

Off to the park for some frolicking!

I love it when wedding photos hit later in the day and the light is prettier. It makes all of the difference in the world.

I think Lucy’s bouquet was the second largest I have ever seen in real life.

Another new favorite! Love the hat. Love the face. Love all of it!

A little touch of urban charm on the way to Oliva on the Hill!

Beautiful arrangements on Oliva’s rustic tables.

Blankets for guests on the patio and yummy pie to warm up their tummies inside!

Custom labeled wine bottles and of course, marinated olives at Oliva.

Toasts were filled with laughter.

Such a pretty night for dancing on the patio to the sounds of the Galaxy Band. Congrats Lucy and Dan! It was a beautiful day!
