Leanne + Mark {by liz}

Leanne and Mark kind of have this “princess and the country boy” thing going on and it just works. Leanne looked beautiful in her fitted lace gown and shiny shoes, and Mark was dapper in his gray tux and perfect hair (more on the hair below!) The day was woody and natural mixed with fancy and sweet. An interesting mix that came together beautifully! The ceremony took place at the Jewel Box in Forest Park followed by a reception at Moulin. A couple of my favorite places! Take a look…

Starting with the dress…and another cute hanger!

I LOVE these Vera Wang shoes. I can’t tell you how difficult it was for me to post only one. I’m like an addict.

I am also in love with this color. I think this might me the base shade for my holiday party this year…hmmm…what to call it though? I have no problem making up a color. I think I will call it auplushia. Don’t ask.

Moving on to the guys hanging out just a couple of floors down. I knew right away it was going to be quite a day. :)

I’m glad that sword he was holding was made of nurf because he looks determined to get me!

Ok, on a scale of 1 – 10 (1 being just shower and don’t do anything and 10 being a full on weave), how long does it take the average guy to do their hair? My husband is a handsome bald man so he is a 1. And maybe I have just gotten used to this over the years. Or maybe when I show up to most weddings the groom already has done his hair so I don’t notice. I used to date a guy who had spiky hair and it took him a couple of minutes to get hairs into place. But this was cracking me up. Mark – I give you a 6 or a 7.

Still going…

Wait, almost there. Just this one last hair…perfect. :)

Time to get back to the ladies so Leanne can get dressed! All that hair styling time set me back a few minutes but I couldn’t look away.

I am having a lace up dress record year! I love it.

I think the earring shot is a classic.

And we’re off to the beautiful Jewel Box in Forest Park!

Ok, cutest idea ever. The ring bearer carried a heart shaped tree trunk slice that had the words “here comes the bride” burned in. And then on the way back down the aisle for the recession, he flipped it around and it said “just married.” How cute is that?!

100% perfect “here comes MY bride” face.

Leanne being escorted down the aisle by her brother.

I never tire of the Jewel Box. It really is a St. Louis gem. I like it way better when there’s not a tornado outside though. Long story. I will tell it again soon because that wedding is featured in the current Knot magazine! But alas, this day was beautiful and bright and the Jewel Box was perfect.

Awwww…I really do love love.

Bubble exit! Seriously, I can’t tell you how many shots I had to take to get one that didn’t have bubbles right in front of Leanne and Mark’s faces. I have the worst bubble luck. I love them but they don’t love me back. Mark still has a bubble on his chin but at least it’s not in his eye!

Crazy weird ring thing. :)

Doesn’t this almost feel like we’re in some tropical paradise?

Love the bouquets by Lucky You

These are a couple of my favorites! I appreciate any couple that is willing to work with me and sit down in their wedding attire because it makes for a great shot from a completely different angle.

Leanne’s father is no longer with us, but he was there in spirit and Leanne carried him around with her all day.

We had plenty of time for photos so to keep things fun we headed over to Olympia in Dogtown to hang and have a few drinks! Olympia is my fave. I hang out there all day every year on my birthday (you know, incase you ever want to pop in and join!) And it’s close to the park and has some decent light so it made for a good, relaxing stop!

Leanne looks unsure about that shot glass in her hand…

Looks like her fears were well founded! Ouzo.

One more quick photo stop on our way to Moulin for a more urban look!

I’m not sure if it was swooning with love or that Ouzo shot that made Mark lose his balance a bit but it worked out well for me!

And off to Moulin! The decor had a natural, woodsy feel mixed with plums and sweets.

Cute little embossed wine corks held the place cards.

Family photo display as guests entered.

I know I keep saying it, but how CUTE is this?

There were little sugar cookies made to look like Leanne’s dress and Mark’s gray tux. They were adorable. And tasty. One may or may not have jumped into my mouth.

I might remember what was said that got this reaction. But that is between Leanne, Mark and I. :)

I have noticed that the best man tends to draw mostly laughs and the maid of honor a mixture of emotions. Including happy tears.

See – back to smiles in no time!

Moulin has this sort of rustic modern loft thing going for it. I love the space.

Holy party Batman! Chris Johnson was the DJ at our wedding so I’m partial. But this is quite impressive! It doesn’t hurt that Leanne’s sorority sisters took over the floor!

A few final parting shots on the rooftop. I love these. Congratulations guys!
