Ally + Doug {by liz}

Ally and Doug make me smile.  I found myself smiling regularly at the computer screen while editing their photos.  They are both so kind and genuinely happy together which made them absolute joys to photograph.  I love people who are quick to smile.  It usually means that they come with a good-hearted nature.  And it’s contagious which means that everyone around them finds themselves smiling too.  Which in turn makes my job way more fun!

I started off at Ally’s parents house where it was immediately clear to me that Ally (who is a stylist) knows hair.  Hers was stunning!  I made sure to include a shot of it from behind in the photos below.  Then off to the church for a ceremony full of laughter and joy.  Afterwards we found the cutest little spot just behind their church that was perfect for photos!  Then it was off to the park followed by a stunning reception at Palladium near historic Soulard.  I’m keeping this one short, none of my crazy ramblings.  Just letting the photos speak for themselves this time around!

Starting things off right with some shiny stuff…

Ally’s step dad owns Phelan Design Group and they set Ally and Doug up right with custom invitations, programs and menus!

Pretty and ruffly Pronovias gown.

Doggie love!

A few finishing touches…

And time to get dressed!  Seriously, check out that hair.

I love this private moment as Ally reads her letter from Doug.

Gorgeous bride!

One of the few times all day that Doug was NOT smiling.  Which lasted all of two seconds at most!

Hee hee!  (pillsbury dough boy reference)

See?  Even smiles while messing with cufflinks.

One handsome dude.

Still smiling…

And laughing…

Laughing some more…I honestly can’t remember what was so funny.  Usually it’s when something goes a little wrong.  But I swear the ceremony went off without a hitch!  I may need to double my dose of ginkoba.

Married!

See?!  Perfect spot behind the church for photos!

Naturals!

This one makes me smile.

The pretty ladies!

I told them to beat on Doug a little.  They took me seriously.

Pretty bouquets by Sandra at Petals Galore!

Ally and Doug having fun together.  All day long.  It was awesome.

How about this cool modern cake from Sarah’s Cake Shop?

Fun lounge furniture, custom pillows and a very nice color coordinated purple and silver candy bar!

Allya and Doug dancing their way into the reception.

And more laughing. :)

Always love weddings with personal style!  Cool purple uplighting, gobo pattern on the floor and draping in the background all from the masters at Exclusive Events!  Not those Chuck Taylor’s though.  Those are all Doug.  Ally had on purple sparkly ones.

I love the little guy over on the right calmly watching the mad spinning.

Rarely do I feel a garter toss is blog worthy but the dude in the back with jazz hands is priceless.

Congratulations Ally and Doug!  Thank you for being an absolute pleasure to work with!  With love, Liz
