Ally and Scotty were my first wedding on the books for 2016 so I had been looking forward to this big day for quite awhile! It’s always an extra special honor to work with special event industry peeps. Ally runs events at Busch Stadium (cool right? I’m sure someone out there is thinking dream job!) And she is sweet and awesome inside and out. Scotty is the strong silent type. At least around virtual strangers (aka me), but it’s obvious that he is the kind of guy that keeps friends around for a long time and is the one they know they can turn to for anything. Good people! And being around good people all day makes me smile. :) Speaking of good people, Meredith was busy shooting with Kate so Marsha from White Klump Photography came out to join me for the day! She is an awesome shooter and I was thrilled to have her along for the ride.
It was a rainy and then really humid and sunny day in May and they handled it like champs. It was pouring when the ceremony started at St. Agatha’s in south city, but when we emerged the sun was right behind us! I absolutely loved the color scheme with emerald green (one of my very favorite colors which is saying a lot because I have what Kristie calls color ADD) with black and white stripes. And to top it all off, the evening ended with a special little “performance” of sorts. See below!
I LOVE Ally’s smile! She’s got this big warm awesome smile that totally lights up a room.
Some people really downplay the whole getting ready time period, but it’s honestly one of my favorite parts. Putting on that dress makes it real for everyone in the room. First and foremost the bride, but also her momma. And then the faces of all of the bridesmaids beaming at their beautiful friend or sister while remembering their own wedding day or looking forward to what may be in the future. That dress makes it real. Before that it’s like everyone is just getting ready for a fancy day out on the town.
Gorgeous. I was editing and my husband Steve looked over and said “She’s really pretty.” I said “Ya think?!” Dripping in sarcasm. ;)
Tears. Happy tears.
Can’t forget Scotty! The guys were not quite as emotional. Or at least they weren’t showing it. Shocking right?!
There is always one troublemaker, and he is almost always my new best friend. He’s the one I’m going to depend on all day to make everyone laugh.
Looking dapper Scotty! Love the striped bow tie.
Pretty St. Agatha Catholic Church in South City.
Final moments.
Married!
Gorgeous church doors.
Found this random little wall down the street with these cool drapey, flowering vines.
Everyone should own at least one pair of emerald argyle socks.
And then join a kick line while wearing them. The Rockettes have NOTHING on you guys!
Love this. I really had nothing to do with posing these ladies. Those are real personalities coming out to play!
Just a little tilt shift perspective fun.
Playing with light and shadow and pretty people.
So pretty!
Now let’s dig into this emerald green with black and white stripes scheme at Palladium. It’s so cool!
I mean right?!
Beautiful floral design by Twisted Willow.
And a yummy cake from McArthurs Bakery!
Palladium has a balcony which means I was able to get some cool (and rare) aerial shots of the room and tables! Or I could tell you I was being suspended via hovercraft. That might be more entertaining.
Awesome toasts.
Dad only embarrassed her a wee little bit. ;)
Par-tay!
Even grandma was rocking it out to Rockstar DJ Quain Tull’s sick beats. ;)
Photobooth fun with Shutterbooth!
Special treat: Scotty and friends doing Thriller. Classic way to end the perfect day!
Big hugs and congrats to you both! I am so incredibly honored you chose me and I hope we get to work together on awesome events for years to come! With love, Liz
