Time to share this gorgeous winter session! Now I am not actually a huge winter fan myself, cold and I just don’t get along, but I do kind of love shooting in winter scenes. The colors outside are all so muted and pretty, and the sun comes through the bare trees in really pretty ways. Love that! Alyona requested a snowy setting if possible because she is actually from Siberia originally, so the cold and snow is right up her alley! Since St. Louis has the most unpredictable weather, I wasn’t quite sure how to plan for the session, because who knows when we would get a real snow storm that would cover the ground? Hidden Valley was thankfully our answer! Since they make their own snow, we had a guaranteed wintry backdrop…thanks again to the staff out there for allowing us to tromp around in the snow a bit! At one point Alyona just stuck her hands directly in the snow…it made me smile, she was clearly so happy :) So let’s get to the good stuff! (And be sure to scroll all the way through, I know I included a lot of images but you have to see the gorgeous dress we saved for last :) )

She had no problem laughing and smiling for the camera :)

So this field of bamboo (not sure if that’s what it actually is, just my best guess) seemed kind of random/out of place on the edge of the parking lot, but it was a great backdrop!

Last outfit, Alyona’s gorgeous prom dress! The gold was so pretty, made me think of Belle :)

I shared this one on our Instagram already, but still really love it so had to include it here too…just the perfect moment with a little motion in the skirt and looking back at the setting sun. Will be a favorite for a long time!
