I’m so glad this wedding snuck itself into my 2015 calendar. There was never a question really…I don’t think it’s even possible to say no to Claire and to be honest I can’t remember ever saying no to Simcha either. (I just had a side realization that I am a total push over!) Each year I try to keep my calendar at a max of 25 weddings. I have found that if I try to do more, I will just spend my whole year apologizing to all of my clients for being behind on their photos and to my friends and family for never seeing them. My job is awesome! But much more time consuming than one might think. I generally spend an average of 70 hours of work per wedding from the first meeting through final album delivery. Crazy right?! Kinda baffles me too to be honest.
However, when the opportunity to work with Claire and Jared came my way there was no question in my mind that I was going to make this happen. Claire is the host of KMOV’s Great Day St. Louis and if you’ve ever seen it, you know that her on air persona is “sweetest person alive.” The crazy part is, she is not acting. She is really that person ALL OF THE TIME. Claire, I kinda want to see you totally lose it on someone. I’ve been asking myself questions like “I wonder if she ever curses at bad drivers?” or “Does she roll her eyes when a kid in a restaurant is throwing a fit and his whole plate of food on the floor?” or does she ever think “Of course I get the 10 hour international flight with the crying baby in the seat directly behind me!” or…ok you get it. Jared a little help here? I’m dying for insight!
Thank you guys so much for having me! The ceremony was lovely. You two are both amazing people that have so much to give. I’m just glad I got to be a part of your world for a little while. :) Now…on to the photos!
Gorgeous bouquet from Walter Knoll and a perfect set of rings…with a little extra surprise ring for Claire. ;)
I love people but I never tire of photographing shoes. Weird, but true.
Um, these two. Cutest flower girls ever.
Claire’s beautiful hair and makeup by my friend Emily Miller!
Such a fun group!
Claire and her contagious smile. And perfect teeth.
They wrote each other the sweetest letters.
Dad!
Meanwhile on another floor…
Custom tux…never a bad idea. Assured perfect fit!
Off to the Old Cathedral. A beautiful St. Louis classic!
These little program guys are so cute in their vests and bow ties.
Perfect moment.
This is the first time I have had the opportunity shoot in the newly renovated cathedral! It used to have mauve carpet. This is a HUGE improvement!
Awww…
Love this marriage blessing.
Mr and Mrs!
And off to Forest Park for some pretty sunset portraits!
This is one of my favorite spots in the park. I try to save it for special occasions. ;)
Our final stop for the evening…The Chase Park Plaza. The rooftop at sunset is breathtaking.
This champagne place card cake tower was a special surprise from Simcha! So cool!
Jared this is awesome. Love how happy you two are together!
So many great toasts.
And perfect hugs.
Party! Griffin and the Gargoyles killin’ it as usual!
Congratulations to you both! Thank you for letting me be a part of such a special day. Wishing you both many years of happiness and fun! With love, Liz
