As I put this blog together, all I could think over and over was “This is what it looks like when you marry your best friend.” I have known Jamie as an acquaintance since college. She falls into the “friend of a friend” category and that friend that connects us is none other than my wonderful work husband Kristie! We have had drinks together and taken dance classes together, but I’m so glad that I got to know both her and Tony on a slightly deeper level by being a part of their extra special wedding day. And I mean EXTRA special. They have quite the storied history that is not mine to tell, but let’s just say it look them longer than most to make it down the aisle together. Twenty something years maybe?! Twenty-ish years of history makes for a meaningful wedding day to say the least. The joy on the faces of so many friends and family that have been through all of life’s ups and downs with them over the years…it was palpable. FINALLY was probably the biggest sentiment of the day! But the biggest smiles in the room were on these two. I’m so excited to see what life has in store for you guys!
We started the morning with a dusting of snow on the spring blooms.
Always the dancer, Jamie looked ready to hit the club in her metallic kicks. ;)
But she had other shoes in her future.
Jamie and Tony’s wedding was dubbed “The JT Experience”. Check out the t-shirt perfection.
Even Jamie and Tony’s dog Heidi was around to share in their day!
This dress was perfection on you Jamie!
Mom and sis moments.
The gang was willing to join me outside for a few pics as the light snow continued to fall. I LOVE this one so much. Makes me want to go hug my mom.
All of the lovely ladies!
Everyone loves Jamie’s bubbly personality. How can you not?! It’s so fun to be in the presence of people who are genuinely happy.
Meanwhile, Kate (not OUR Kate, but Kate Hargis who is a rock star photographer and was kind enough to join me for the day!), headed over through St. Patrick’s Day parade traffic to meet up with Tony and the guys at the Marriott St. Louis Grand.
They weren’t ready yet lol. ;)
But they were ready to party!
There’s a lot of humor with this group. Impossible to wrangle but so fun. ;)
Nice Tony.
Even better.
Now THAT is a watch.
First look…
Damn I love this room. I could shoot these two in this light all day long.
This is what it looks like when you marry your best friend.
LOVE this behind the scenes shot by Kate!
Time to do this. FINALLY. ;)
The stories were AWESOME. It was a wedding-meets-roast type of presentation.
Woo hoo! It’s official!
The gorgeous wedding reception in the Crystal Ballroom at the Marriott St. Louis Grand. Steve and I had our wedding reception here so I get a little teary every time I go back. I’m a sap.
Cake by Lubeley’s and floral design by Thorn Studio.
Honestly these two got a lot of shit all day (which was totally deserved!), but they got WAY more love. The toasts were the perfect mix of both! Heavy on the love.
Killer shot by Kate from across the room!
Celebrating a couple of birthdays too!
Glow stick lollies. Yum!
Packed dance floor all night long. I would expect nothing less!
Troublemaker.
I’m so glad I got to be there for this! And I’m so glad you two finally made it down the aisle! You make an amazing team…just keep making each other laugh and smile like you did on this day and you’ve got it made. Big hugs! With love, Liz
