Julie + Scott {by liz}

Julie and Scott had a beautiful wedding day in August. I sometimes worry about the mental stability of people who choose August in St. Louis for their weddings, but Julie and Scott are as sane and kind hearted and relaxed and awesome as any wedding vendor could ask for! And in the end it wasn’t nearly as hot as it usually is in August and ended up being a beautiful day for a winery reception! I started at Julie’s friend’s house for the girls getting ready, then headed over to the beautiful St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in south city for the ceremony. After a pretty ribbon exit we headed back towards the Mississippi River and the riverfront for a few quick pics before we crossed over into Illinois for their reception at Villa Marie Winery in Maryville, IL! I hope you enjoy the photos!

I think I will start with the pretty blue shoes. I know, big shock.

Pretty antique blue earrings.

Julie getting helped into her elegant gown.

Not every pre-wedding moment is serious!

But some are.

And we’re off to the church!

A few of Scott finishing getting into his tux…

All good! He cleans up well I tell ya. :)

Ok, I have no idea what happened right here, but I love this usher’s face and decided it was a must share.

Scott and John (the other love of their lives) watching Julie come down the aisle.

St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church is gorgeous and has tons of beautiful mosaic tiles with a hispanic flair.

Pretty little bridesmaids all in a row…

I love hugs. I never get sick of them. However, I have been sick for a few days so I am short on hug action in my life right now. Will have to make up for it as soon as I’m better!

Married!

Found this little old rickety wood ladder sitting around at St. Cecilia’s and decided to take advantage of it. Beautiful bouquet by my friend Rich West of RW Designs!

Off to the riverfront on our way across the Mississippi River into Illinois for their reception at Villa Marie Winery in Maryville!

So EVERY time I have a beautiful bride with a long veil there is NO wind. It is the bane of my existence. Ok, ok – that is a little dramatic, but it’s not fair! So this time we faked it! Scenario: I am laying on the ground while Michael Gebbs’ assistant is throwing the veil in the air over and over again while Julie and Scott hold the longest kiss of all time. I really wish I had a shot of that action! But is was worth it right?!

Playing in the vineyard for a few portraits!

One of my very favorite photos of the whole day.

This one makes me want to take a deep breath in and exhale. Slowly.

Time to party!

Simple and elegant cake by one of my favorite local baking companies…Sugaree. Mmmmm.

Julie, Scott and company enjoying their growing up photo montage put together by Gebbs.

First dance as husband and wife!

And finishing off the evening with a same day edit (SDE) of their wedding day up to that point! Michael Gebbs is so talented. There are no words. Congratulations Julie and Scott!
