When I sit down to write blogs I always stare at the screen for awhile and think “Where to start?” I’m much better with photographs than I am with words which probably has something to do with how I landed in photography to begin with. The first thing that comes to mind? Kathryn made an absolutely breathtaking bride. When I met her and her mom a year or so ago, Kathryn was a blonde. But sometime between then and her wedding day she decided to go closer to her natural color. By the time I saw her again she was a stunning brunette! And the gown…the gown is actually her mom’s dress from her Fleur-de-lis when she was a teenager. It is very rare that any bride can or even wants to try to pull off wearing her mom’s gown, but it was perfect. The dress was originally pure white, and they had it dyed a beautiful antique white that fit Kathryn so well it looked as if they had pulled the shade directly from her personal color wheel. Again…stunning.
Everything took place at the St. Louis Club in downtown Clayton. It was only my second time shooting there and it was as classically beautiful as I remembered. From the plentiful flower arrangements to the Wedgewood blue cake and David’s classic tux…it was a timeless affair to remember! Take a look!
Starting with that beautiful gown I was telling you about.
Kathryn’s monogramed pashmina from David was a perfect accessory.
The magnificent Danielle Erb working her magic on Kathryn. Not that Kathryn needed magic. You know what I mean. :)
Talented planner Simcha Lourie assisting Kathryn into her gown!
I’m not the only one who thought Kathryn looked picture perfect.
Gorgeous! Kathryn I think that your blue eyes matched your decor. Did you do that on purpose?
On my way to meet up with David I was sidetracked by the pretty centerpieces. Squirrel!
“Would you like a spot of tea?” I’m used to seeing groomsmen with beer bottles. I find this highly amusing.
David’s finishing touches…
Dapper.
First look! So happy!
That face is priceless. One of my favorites.
Gorgeous bouquet by Frankie Peltiere, florist extraordinaire.
The WHOLE wedding party!
I love everyone smiling at the lovebirds. Yes, I said lovebirds and I know that makes me sound like a grandma but I like it.
Lovely mangled tree and vines in downtown Clayton…who knew?!
Another favorite!
Most of the wedding cakes I photograph are white on white which makes it tough to see detail. I love this Wedgewood blue fondant with the salmon roses!
The Ketubah signing is sometimes filled with heartfelt tears and other times with absolute joy and laughter. Guess which one this was?! Now those are the kind of groomsmen drinks I recognize!
All signed! High five!
Ceremony time…these two were little porcelain dolls.
Kathryn and her dad coming down the aisle. So sweet.
Married!
A few quick room shots featuring the beautiful centerpieces.
Lot’s of laughs through the toasts. I had a tough time narrowing down which ones to blog! Talented toasters.
A little embarrassed perhaps? Now who would do that?!
David’s brother…I think we will call him “animated.” He may have had something to do with David’s embarrassment. Just maybe.
Awwww…
The dance floor was crazy when I left! Thank you to everyone involved for such a wonderful day! I hope that the photos will help the memories live on for years to come. Congratulations! With love, Liz
