This was a wedding of a few firsts for us! A) It was our first wedding out at Overlook Farms and the grounds and Avalon Hall are both lovely. B) It was our first wedding with FIREWORKS! Crazy fun right?! Turns out fireworks are not that easy to shoot AND get great shots of the people watching them. I stationed myself with a tripod and Mer planted herself to get a few facial reactions. And we asked Katie and Aaron to hold as still as possible while enjoying the show. You know, avoid breathing if possible. ;) We are totally happy with the result! But if you’re reading this you have to look through everything else first…no skipping to the end. Which I have personally been known to do so that may be a slightly hypocritical demand. Let’s start with the non-flammable shiny stuff…
Katie couldn’t decide whether she was going to wear the glitter Kate Spade mary jane’s or the patent Christian Louboutin pumps, so we took a quick pick of both just in case. Oh the horror. ;)
Love this invite with the navy and white striped envelope liner and gold foil!
I got to hang out with one of my fave hair and makeup gals two weekends in a row. That makes for a good month in my book! Emily Miller and I went to high school together. I know it’s St. Louis and that’s not strange BUT we went to high school together in ILLINOIS and graduated the same year and now we get to work together all of the time! More weird right?!
That dress…just the right amount of lace. It fit you perfectly Katie!
Love these moments with mom and grandma. Tight knit families make me smile.
Katie reading her card from Aaron right after the teary eyed hug from grandma may have pushed the tears over the edge.
Katie I love this face! I feel like we are sharing a secret…and you might be laughing at me. I’m not sure but it makes me smile.
And the blog wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t check in with Meredith, Aaron and the guys!
This is one nice bottle of whiskey. No seriously…I think I have only seen the 15 year at most. Kind of funny story, this isn’t a really well known brand of whiskey over here, but you can find it at quite a few bars in Ireland. I’m a whiskey drinker (I prefer scotch if we’re getting down to details which I know is not whiskey) and found that Redbreast was actually one of my favorite Irish whiskeys when we were over there! Seriously 21 years…that girl loves you Aaron. You can bring that to our next meeting if you feel like sharing. Hee! ;)
I like this little sideways grin on Aaron.
Gorgeous day for some pretty photos!
Mer’s angle and the same shot…I like the depth in hers!
How about this cute little picturesque swing?!
Quick visit from a furry family member.
Pretty Katie.
Mer and I spent about an hour scouting since it was our first time shooting at Overlook, and guess where one of our favorite spots was? The parking lot. But it looks like an enchanted garden!
Peonies make me smile. They are just so FLUFFY!
Just love how everyone was so happy and carefree that day.
We NEVER get boutonnieres delivered all cute like this! And that striped ribbon?! Barb at Bloomin’ Buckets is the best! Love!
Ceremony time…#pictureworthy
These two trees make for a nice altar area wouldn’t you say?
I love the little lip bite.
I think you guys practiced this first kiss! It’s perfect hand placement and everything!
Beautiful Avalon Hall reception space at Overlook Farms. I believe I heard it was hand built by area Amish craftsmen. The ladies at Kate & Co did a fabulous job bringing all of the details together!
These cute little guys housed macaroons!
This is a smart parting gift.
Love all of the smiles and laughs around the room.
There is almost always one who provides the entertainment and/or comic relief. Let’s just say the brother of the groom is known for his moves!
And to wrap up the perfect day…
Congratulations to you both! It was such a lovely day! Thank you for giving us some new experiences and letting us enjoy them with you. With love, Liz + Meredith
