I would like to apologize for my short hiatus! Steve and I went to Ireland for his birthday/our anniversary and I was able to mostly disconnect from all electronic devices for a few days. It was wonderful. Of course I’m sure all of you know what it’s like when you come back from vacation and see the work stacked up, but at least the next wedding on my editing plate was this one! Welcome back to August in St. Louis, MO when our generally mild summer finally decided to kick into full-on-surface-of-mars heat with air you could almost bite into thanks to our lovely humidity levels. All of that said, nothing, not even the extreme heat could put a damper on this lovely weekend! I almost never ever blog the rehearsal dinner, but this one was so cool that it deserves a few shots. It was game night at the World’s Fair Pavilion complete with bags, giant jenga, giant checkers, washers, pegs and more! A country band rounded out the atmosphere with custom wood bars for whiskey sipping along with some Pappy’s BBQ for dinner. I know it was just a rehearsal but it was wedding fabulous!
Caught a couple of the guys triple-fisting. :) I mean it was HOT! They needed to hydrate.
Kristel staying cool late into the evening. See you in the morning lady!
And here we are! Getting ready at the Chase Park Plaza in air conditioning the next morning. With lovely shiny things.
VERY cool stationary in the deco style of the Peabody Opera House. So fitting!
Love, love, love this clutch. Did I mention that I love it?
Kristel writing a little note for John’s gift.
All beautified and ready to go!
John and Kristel are both pretty serious athletes. The wedding party actually went for a run the morning of the wedding. That being said, on the day of the wedding John wanted all of the things he never allows himself to have – basically a giant stash of everything made by Hostess or Little Debbie. ;)
John’s dad had a custom bottle of scotch made for him. Coolest gift ever! I may be a girly girl, but I do appreciate a good glass of scotch. As long as it’s not too peaty. Thought you might want to know in case anyone is working on my Christmas list. ;)
First look on the fabulous Chase Park Plaza rooftop!
Followed by their gift exchange.
And just a few quick portraits before we escape the heat!
Off to the Peabody for a few more portraits and wedding party photos before the ceremony. I love this balcony at the Peabody. Add in Kristel and John and it’s photographic perfection. That may have come out wrong – not my photography – the scene and the people are perfect! Photography is never perfect. It’s imperfections are perfect. It’s all part of the creative process! No I haven’t been drinking scotch tonight.
Randy at Artistry – love this textured floral mix with tones of pink and peach!
Lovely Kristel.
Little moment with bride and dad before they head down the aisle. I love this. Thank you Meredith for catching this!
Ceremony in the beautiful Peabody ticket lobby.
Congrats you two!
Off to grab a few quick detail shots before guests move into the Peabody Grand Lobby!
Such a gorgeous room.
Kristel and John walked straight in to do a perfect first dance!
I love both of these faces.
Let the dancing begin!
Ending the night with a few quick portraits on the Peabody stage. Gorgeous.
I’m so honored to have been a part of this amazing day! Thank you both so much for having us! With love, Liz and Meredith
