Margaret and Clayton feel like old friends by now… I photographed their engagement session some time ago, then Maragret’s boudoir session (va va voom!) and then the rehearsal dinner (few pics of yummy yummy Chomorro BBQ below) … so by the time the wedding arrived it was relaxed and fun. Once you have been tackled by someone’s bulldog and seen them in their skivvies, how much nervousness can there be?!? The rehearsal dinner was held in Defiance Mo at Margaret’s dad’s cabin, and Clayton’s dad (complete with ‘father of the groom’ apron) prepared a feast. I have never seen so many shrimp cooked at one time! :) And I got to eat some. Margaret got ready at the same cabin the next day, while Clayton got ready at the Swan Haven Inn. My good friend and second shooter for the day, Alecia Hoyt, was there to capture the boys. It was a beautiful afternoon followed by candlelit ceremony at the Daniel Boone peace Chapel and reception at Mount Pleasant Winery. Less talk, more rock… on with the photos!
The log cabin at night… awesome stars.
Rum pineapple…. it’s like the grown up tropical version of the (gross) vodka watermelon!
I love being able to shoot details outside… thanks for letting me hang your dress in a tree!
Okay, so three photos of the rings in overkill… of this I am aware… but I am feeling indecisive and they are all pretty. I had the hardest time finding an acorn big enough to have Clayton’s ring sit on top I almost couldn’t get this last one!
finally, some people!
Alecia and I scouted this big tree on the way to the Inn– so cool!
Margaret was such a good sport when I asked her limo driver to pull over for some impromptu sunset shots in a field and by an old barn I spotted from the car

The Peace Chapel (kind of reminds me of Sleepy Hollow at night!!)
married and off to Mt. Pleasant!
We snuck down into the wine cellar for some cool night shots since the Bride and Groom didn’t see each other until it was dark!
I LOVE this one. a lot.
and one by Alecia too. (nice flare!)
and of course Franklin makes an appearance (their bulldog Franklin looks just like this)
the photo below is here because of my new rule that if a photo makes me laugh out loud while editing it goes not he blog no matter what.
group hug!
full moon and awesome clouds
thanks for the scrumptious food and hospitality, and for letting me capture your day!
