Maricela and Jan tied the knot in May… and everyone had a blast. Maricela has a big, bright, beautiful smile, and did not stop flashing it all day (as you will soon see) The reception was an amazing expression of love and welcoming between two families with very different cultural and geographical backgrounds… Jan’s family being Swedish and Maricela’s family Mexican. They adopted some traditions from each, and Jan’s daughters (who also made the cake!) gave their toast in both English and in Spanish! Enjoy!
We’ll kick things off with the shoes, and the bling
this lariat is a family heirloom worn by several generations of women in Maricela’s family, and the necklace… an engagement gift from Jan.
this makes me wish I had sisters.
annnd one of Jan getting dressed up too!
and we’re off to the church!
here is that lariat in action
I love this one…. Maricela is standing on the step and Jan is standing on the ground for a kiss (this makes them *almost* the same height!)
now to The Artist’s Guild for photos and the reception!
see?! what did I tell you about the smiling?!
I love this portrait of Maricela… beautiful!
I do not usually include family photos in the blog… but this one sums up the day so well…
Maricela! That is a pretty big piece of cake!
A Mariachi band & a welcome from Jan kicked off the festivities!
not a dry eye in the house… from sentimentality and from laughter!
the “shoe game” had everyone is stitches
Thanks for letting me share your day!
