Megan and Cole got married on a dreary and overcast day at the beautiful Missouri Botanical Gardens, but there is nothing dreary about this wedding! Megan and I got along as soon as we met, and sent many emails back and forth about color schemes and details about the wedding and talked about hair and makeup artists since we both have very curly hair, but I never would have guessed that as the wedding quickly approached we would suddenly have something even bigger in common — we are now spinal laminectomy sisters! Megan had an injury that caused her to have to have the very same back surgery that I had years ago just a short time out from the wedding. When she called me to talk about it, my heart immediately went out to her as I recalled all too well the long recovery from my own surgery, and the ups and downs that were involved. We talked strategies and then with some very careful and localized scouting, and the assistance of friends with well timed pain meds and snacks, everyone teamed up to make it happen! Megan looked gorgeous and enjoyed her wedding day like a trooper!
see? look at those gorgeous curls!
and finally we get an appearance from the groom!
a quick first look outside and then off to the gardens!
I love all the lush and different greens behind them in this image and, of course, the way they look at each other makes my heart flutter.
such a cute idea… a “first fight box” containing wine, their vows, unopened letters to each other, and other sentimental items…. love it.
a lovely cake created by a good friend of the bride
Megan and Cole… thanks for letting me capture the day and congratulations! with love, kate
