I know that we need rain to make everything grow, but come on Mother Nature! Collectively, the St. Louis wedding photog community would like to ask for a little break from the dreary daily downpours! (I’m quite proud of that alliteration if you must know. I’m a nerd.) That being said, we will take what we are given and work with it until we are soaked head to toe with camera gear swathed in plastic bags. I may not have been a girl scout, but I always come prepared…a type A creative person if such a thing can exist. So when a little sprinkle came our way Megan, Steven and their wedding party hopped under a set of cute umbrellas and we worked through it together! Megan is a classic beauty and everything about this day was elegant. The Empire Room at The Chase, the light and fluffy bouquets, the lace gown, the classic black tuxedos, the trolley…all of it. Get ready to love this one! Let’s start shiny. Thank you to the fabulous bridesmaid sitting across the table from me in her pink robe. You were the perfect photo prop for this shot! :)
Mmmm…Fendi.
A few final pins…
A quick toast to the bride to be!
The gown fit like a glove.
Perfection.
The Empire Room at The Chase Park Plaza has some exquisite Deco details.
Handsome Groom Steven’s reaction to the perfection I mentioned above. ;)
How cool is the Empire Room?
Married! This is a damn good first kiss. Not one of those silly little pecks I see from time to time. They really went for it!
A little dramatic romance to start things off…
Just a wee little walk in Maryland Plaza.
Love the Central West End architecture. And those cool Dr. Seuss-like alliums.
And off to Forest Park! Another classic beauty…The Grand Basin at the base of the Art Museum is a definite St. Louis gem.
And then the rain arrived. But we were good! Thanks to Liz and Mitch for selling me your unused umbrellas. The ones I had left over from last year weren’t nearly this cute!
Love this angle. Just a little climbing with camera gear…
And off to the Trolley Room in the trolley!
Cute place cards. Someone has impressively pretty handwriting.
The Trolley Room at the Visitors Center in Forest park. One of my favorite reception venues in the city.
Starting things off with a little dancing.
And toasting…and tears…and laughs…and hugs. I love shooting toasts.
Party!
Fun with sparklers. ;) A little sparkler words of wisdom to live by: LONG and METAL. The wooden ones produce a cloud of smoke and you can’t see anything but the cloud of smoke. And they run out faster than you would expect so buy the longest lasting ones you can find! Plus, when it comes to end of the night sparkler exits it’s tough to get drunk people to follow instructions and not light them until you’re ready to come out. And once one drunk person lights theirs, then group think kicks in and before you know it by the time you exit they are all burned out. So the longer lasting the better I always say!
And they’re off!
Love.
Congratulations you two! Gorgeous wedding day! With love, Liz
