So much pretty ahead in this post! Meredith had to help me narrow down the photos (thanks Mer). Sometimes I just can’t bring myself to do it! Photographers nearly always have some level of emotional attachment to their images. It’s extra tough to let go and be subjective when you’re this close to them. Natalie and Derek had such a beautiful day in so many ways, starting with one of the most beautiful and interesting engagement rings I have seen, to their sweet first look, through their ceremony at the Shrine of St. Joseph (which is in my opinion the prettiest church in St. Louis), to the gorgeous fluffy white reception florals by Artistry at Bissinger’s Caramel Room and wrapping it all up with beautiful sunset terrace portraits and crazy fun dance party. What more could a photographer ask for really?! Perfect beginning to end in large part thanks to the insanely talented Michelle Moulden from Absolutely In Events! Also big thanks to Katy Corea for guest shooting with me for this amazing day.
Natalie and Derek have a love of wine (a passion we share!) so I popped by Sasha’s and picked up a few corks before the big day and found an antique wine opener to tie it all together.
The embroidered floral detail on this gown was spectacular.
Can’t go wrong with a sweet pair of Kate Spade’s!
Loved Derek’s antique pocket watch with Natalie’s photo inside.
Here she comes…
Katy took this other angle while I had the main shot and it’s one of my favorites.
The rest of the crew!
We took a little break from the heat and headed to Sasha’s on Shaw for a little bubbly. One of my favorite wine bars in St. Louis! Partially because it is only a couple of blocks from my house, but they are seriously fabulous.
One last quick stop at the library before we head over to the ceremony to get these two hitched.
Sweet hug.
It’s official!
I mean seriously gorgeous right?! Clean, simple loveliness.
Frannie from Encore Baking Company is seriously a master of sugar flowers. I could shoot this cake call day. But then no one would ever get to eat it and that would be a shame. ;)
Sunset…
I don’t shoot silhouettes very often, but maybe I should start! Katy took this beautiful shot for us.
Extra fancy smores with Bissingers chocolate and homemade marshmallows.
Dance party!
Congratulations to you both! Thank you so much for letting me play a part in your perfect wedding day. With love, Liz
