I haven’t had a wedding at the St. Louis County Courthouse in a really long time, and I would do it over and over again every week! Actually, the last time I was in this courthouse was to adopt Steve and my son Maison, which was August 7, 2019. Little did I know I was about to become a stay at home homeschooling new mom thanks to that darn pandemic! (PS – I did not sign up for that lol!)
Rachel and Kyle live across the country, so Kyle’s mom Patty reached out to meet with me at our photo studio in the Central West End. Little did we know we were both going quite a bit out of our way to get together…turns out we are neighbors! She lives just a block or so away in U City and she knew my house because of my little red vintage camper Birdie. Such a fun small world moment.
Honestly, everything went just as planned (for once!) Other than it being a SUPER steamy St. Louis summer day, and me getting in trouble with the courthouse security guard (meh), it was lovely. I love my big fancy weddings, but there is always something extra special about the small intimate ones. It’s not about the pretty stuff or the ceremony of it all…it truly boils down to love. Two people committing to a life together surrounded by only the very closest of friends and family. It doesn’t get much more romantic than that.
I hope you two enjoy the preview! Thank you for having me and allowing me to be a part of your day! With love, Liz
