This is going to be a much longer photo share for me than usual! It’s very hard to give a “little preview” of an actual birth day. I really wanted to share their full story, if I was going to share at all. I’ve known this family since I was five or six – kindergarten. Nikki’s (new Mommy’s) older sis, Amy, and I have been friends forever – which means I’ve known Nikki forever too. When Amy asked to hire me to photograph Nikki’s first born, I was super excited, and knew I couldn’t pass it up.
This is not a session-type I normally offer, as with having a 2.5-year-old at home myself, I can’t be “on call” 24/7 for basically a month. You never really know when these little ones will arrive. And this little boy was quite the stubborn one, wanting to stay in Mommy’s belly. At 41 weeks, he was finally forced to come out. “Smoke him out,” his Grandma kept saying. (Not literally, of course). And after a full day of putting his Mommy (& Daddy) to work, which I captured 16 hours of, he was WELL WORTH the wait!
I am so excited to share the actual birth day of little boy Graham; William Graham Chilton, born January 21, 2013 at 11:54 PM, weighing in at 9lb 4oz, perfectly healthy, with a super excited family! Mommy & Daddy are doing great, and couldn’t be happier.
The day …
A super cold 27 degrees, with bone-chilling wind, but not a cloud in the sky that morning:
Time to get things (aka the drugs) rolling:
The calm before the (family) storm:
Contractions coming in at 100+ and off the charts:
The iPhone, where all the updates were being given:
Headlines of the day: Obama & Stan the Man
Kicked out of the room for a check-up, so everyone hops on their phones to update friends:
Causing a ruckus in the hall, with a kangaroo (ha):
What’s the hold up little guy? We’re all waiting!:
And hungry! Daddy is sneaking cookies in the bathroom, so Mommy doesn’t get jealous … But, Mommy’s out there sharing photos of the big ice cream she had recently:
A last kiss and hug before baby comes:
Staying calm, cool, and collected. Excellent work Dad! Excellent!:
Priceless proud face on Momma:
Meet the new little family of three:
Now let’s get the others back in here to meet the little guy!:
(I am so in love with this photo, I can’t even explain):
Holding onto Grandpa’s finger:
The Paparazzi … (Like I can talk. Ha.):
So, so, unexplainably honored that I was able to capture this day. THANK YOU Nikki & Jeff for letting me be a part of Graham’s birth day!
With love,
Kristie
