Before I began typing, I glanced through all of the photos I inserted into this blog post and found myself sitting here with a little evil smirk on my face. I can’t explain it…there’s nothing embarrassing in here. It’s just so them. Which makes me feel like I did my job ok that day, and in turn, makes me smile. ;) I’ve kind of known Dru for A LOT of years. He’s part of Kristie’s really close group of friends. I have just gotten to know Amber more in the last year or so and love her dry, sarcastic sense of humor which is a perfect contrast to balance out Dru’s silliness. It basically rained their whole wedding day and they handled it like champs. At no point are we using the umbrellas in the photos as fun, cute props. They are entirely functional and necessary. Their ceremony was moved from the Music Stand to inside the Piper Palm House and as you will see was still gorgeous. Enough talking…let’s start with Amber’s delicate lace Nicole Miller wedding gown.
Their invitations were perfect. I hear they may have tortured our designer friend Kiley a bit in the process (something about leading and kerning and Druzilla comes to mind?), but I LOVE them Kiley!
All the metals. Amber has a platinum engagement ring with silver, gold and rose gold bands. LOVE. And kind of jealous. Going to share this idea with the hubby now before I forget…
I promised Amber very few close ups, but felt like a few were in order.
Dress time!
Those eyes Amber. SERIOUSLY girl.
And off to their first look! The sun appeared for less than 2 minutes and this is the last we will see of it. Good timing really!
As Amber would say, this is when I told her to “look happy!” Remember that dry sarcastic sense of humor I was mentioning above? Well, she humored me with a few well placed smiles. ;)
As we make our way to Tower Grove Park it started pouring. So I pulled out my handy cute umbrellas!
We decided the guys were manly enough to handle a few drops of water from the sky sans umbrellas.
Just a little rainy day romance.
Pretty, fluffy flowers from Thorn Studio.
Kristie went above and beyond with the chalkboard art! Such a talent. I could never, ever do this.
Here comes the bride…
The Piper Palm House in Tower Grove park is such a beautiful and unique spot.
So many smiles.
Nice job Amber Deady on this gorgeous cake!
Mr and Mrs Jacobs!
That is not a face of trust.
Awesome toasts. And hugs.
Party time! This is a dancing group. Let’s just say they were thoroughly entertaining (for me). My DJ friend Jimmy Hussey even said that this play list would only have worked for Dru and Amber’s friends. And it SO worked.
That’s Mike Cromie (Kristie’s husband – hi Mike!) rolling (aka dancing) around on the floor.
Just a little pat on the butt to round out the evening…
Congratulations you guys! Awesome wedding day. So much fun. Let’s do it again soon kay?! ;) With love, Liz
