There are so many reasons why I love this session. Sweet family, sweet baby, funny dog, adorable nursery (with fabulous natural light), great home decor, did I say a sweet family. I could go on and on … which is why this post pretty much does for a newborn session share. So, let’s get on with it …
That adorable mobile above the crib was hand made by Mom! So awesome. Directions found on Pinterest of course, she admitted. But still, that takes skill. I love seeing handmade items in a nursery.
Below Dad sneaks in a photo for his phone too ;) He did admit I gave him a new respect for natural light in their house.
(Seriously – the best tip – even for your cell phone photos – turn OFF the overhead lights & expose all the window light you have. Don’t just twist those blinds, pull them open all the way to the top!)
While capturing a few of Andrew with his eyes wide open, little pup Keller wants some attention too.
Tiny toes and feet. (insert all the heart eye emojis)
Now this one below is not something you’d hang on the wall, but oh my, is it one that will bring back all sorts of memories. Because, let’s be honest, how much time do we as parents spend at the changing table … Countless. Countless time! (I once made the mistake with my first child of tallying the hours I spent in the rocking chair breastfeeding per week. You don’t want to know. No wonder I never got anything done during that time! Let me just say it’s more than a full-time job).
Here’s more of that adorable nursery I mentioned.
And to the right – one of my personal favorite photo captures from this session – Mom & baby in the reflection of the mirror.
Someone making sure I didn’t forget about him, while capturing nursery details. Look at those puppy eyes.
A little couch snuggle time, as you may know, this happens at some point every day with a newborn!
And finally a few outside to capture the season.
And finally, one of my personal favorite spots – the front door. A great keepsake of baby’s first home.
A new addition to the family. Nothing beats it.
