Chelsea + Mark {by liz and kristie}

I love that as soon as I showed up for their wedding Mark looked at me with a little twinkle and said “What, no giant red balloons this time?!” A quite amusing reference to the fact that I previously arrived for their engagement session last fall with two huge red balloons to play with. Not this time Mark! No props necessary on this wedding day! I’m not sure if it was the birdcage veil messing with me or if Chelsea’s eyes physically sparkle, but I swear they twinkled all day. From the ceremony at the Christ Church Cathedral to the dance party on Washington Avenue, everything went just as planned…take a look!

Chelsea and the girls got ready at her town house so I took the opportunity to personalize the shoe shot with a few books from their shelves.

How about this large shiny sapphire as your something blue?!

In nearly 10 years of weddings, I believe this is only the 3rd time I have had the pleasure of a bride with a birdcage veil.  I loved it on you Chelsea!

Kristie was hanging with Mark and the guys for a few finishing touches.

Outsmarted by the pocket square gentlemen? :)

Time to get Chelsea laced in!

See?  Sparkly eyes.

Off to the church!

A few final moments before Chelsea and her dad head down the aisle.

The historic organ at the Christ Church Cathedral is pretty impressive.

Married!

I’m not really one for the shots of the signing of the marriage license, but Christ Church Cathedral has this book that goes back to when the church was built and it has been signed by everyone who has ever been married there.  I love that tradition.  Chelsea and Mark have their own little piece of history at that church.

The light in the foyer of the church was perfect.

And onto the bus and out and about for a few more photos!

My number one favorite shot of the day.

We headed to Humphrey’s for some wedding day merriment and frosty refreshments.

Don’t ask…I don’t know the answer. :)

Pretty day in the park!

Gorgeous bouquets by Sisters Flowers.

My second favorite photo of the whole day.  Thank you Kristie!  Love foreground objects.

And off to Windows On Washington to continue the party!

Signature tree and a really fun cake by The Cakery Bakery.

This is the face of someone who has just tried to cut through styrofoam.  Ha!

Chelsea’s mom and her lifelong friends were a hoot!

This little guy is going to make a really fun groom to photograph one day.

The outside and inside view from the the reception at dusk. In the photo on the left you can even see their church! Kristie said she didn’t do it on purpose but I think her subconscious took over.

And a little modern take on the St. Louis Skyline.  Sparkly just like Chelsea. :)

Congratulations and many years of happiness to you both! Thank you for letting me be a party of your beautiful day. With love, Liz
