So Colleen and Kyle are a unique and interesting couple. For starters Colleen booked me from Afghanistan… she is military and Kyle was over there too, but by choice…talk about true love. Also, their date was on a tuesday, which I thought was a typo at first, but it wasn’t! They had a lovely, intimate tuesday daytime wedding….if that is a new trend, I’m in! It was so weird to be done shooting before sunset and home for dinner! This first photo is funny because Kyle ordered this charm for Colleen to go on her bouquet…but he got the date wrong (it was really 4.30.13…oops!) The best part is that Colleen laughed about it and said that is “so Kyle” that she decided to use it anyway and make that funny memory part of the wedding. I found this to be totally awesome, and it turned out to be completely indicative of how laid back and funny Colleen and Kyle are.
Colleen wore her mom’s pearls that her father bought when he was overseas in the military (and apparently got for a song) and they were simple and elegant.
cute Badgley Mischka flats! It is awesome they are starting to come out with some really pretty flats now!!
Colleen defines low maintenance. She never wears makeup, so a friend put on a few touches and another friend did her cute braided undo (maybe standing on a table hovering over her , but we’ll save that photo for the private collection!)
lovely.
and here is Kyle… always the devilish grin.
The ceremony was at the Japanese Garden at the Missouri Botanical Gardens … it was a very bright day, so everyone is a little squinty, but happy!
married!

I am not sure what this tradition is on the right with Kyle and his brother…. it involves counterbalancing each others weight and leaning in…. it had to be captured.
After the reception we walked around the gardens with some of Colleen and Kyle’s best friends who had travelled from near and far to be here for some fun and some goofy and some pretty pictures
ahhhh, the sheep…
more silliness amongst more pretty photos
these guys wanted some jumping photos, and this is the one where everyone is off the ground, but just for the record, the one where they jumped like old 2-D Nintendo Mario Brothers is also hilarious.
this guy (Colleen’s BFF who introduced her to Kyle): “hey, take a photo of me and this statue doing the same thing”
me: “well then do it right! other foot forward, twist at the waist, right elbow forward, eyes off to the right…perfect!”

Thanks for a fun Tuesday!! with love, kate
