One of the reasons we love working with wedding planners is more often than not, the wedding day will be unique and extra special in one way or another. They may be able to help you dig deep into your psyche to come up with things that are important and special to you both. And then meld those things into some awesomeness on your wedding day! Thus making it extra cool and extra personal. So if you are thinking about working with a planner, consider this an endorsement! Highly recommend. I mean HIGHLY.
We had a blast working with one of our favorite planners on this one of a kind wedding, the fabulous Kristin Weis! Linsey and Cliff are such a fun couple and were dead set on enjoying every minute of their wedding day. We did our best to stay out of the way and capture it. The Old Post Office was converted into a kind of enchanted forest with large trees by Poppies Design Studio adorning the tables. Lots of laughter and tears followed by a downright “spirited” dance party after the guests enjoyed quite a few of Cliff’s local small batch bourbon cocktails (aptly named “Fun with Cliff”)! And as if that wasn’t enough, they finished off the night with a special surprise guest. No scrolling ahead to find out who! I will know if you do it. I’m watching you. So let’s start at the beginning shall we?! How much do I love the textures in this bouquet?! So much that I kind of want to hug it.
Perfect vintage clutch.
Cliff looking all dapper in his suspenders and bow tie.
Ready to get this show on the road?
As the guys headed out, Linsey and her beautiful mom get ready to put on the dress.
What would we do without our girlfriends? Especially on the wedding day.
This gown…so lovely and unique! Just like Linsey.
Perfection!
Waving off a few tears.
She managed to hold them back until dad walked in and then everyone went waterfalls.
Double checking that we have everything and are ready to head to the chapel.
Off they go!
The ceremony took place at the beautiful Graham Chapel on Washington University campus.
The Bentley. Is there really any other acceptable form of transportation? Well, maybe a Rolls. Or a Maserati. But the list is certainly limited.
As Kristin opens the door…
The new Mr and Mrs!
Just a few quick shots with the wedding party.
Followed by a few quick shots with Linsey and Cliff in the one remaining ray of sunlight. You can see it in the distance…
SO worth the walk.
And we’re off to the absolutely stunning reception!
See?!
Every detail…all the way down to the vintage gold flutes.
Cute dessert table on a vintage dresser from Finch Vintage Rentals.
I may have meandered by and eaten at least four of these amazing little gooey butter bites throughout the evening! Addictive little buggers.
Vintage seating areas also from Finch. So cute!
Party time!
All of the small batch whiskeys served were locally sourced! I consider myself a pretty heavy whiskey drinker, but had honestly never had any of these before. Love this idea!
Time to get this dance floor started…
Dancing with the parents always pulls at my heartstrings a little.
I’m not the only one.
Let the boogie-ing commence!
Packed dance floor all night with Griffin and the Gargoyles!
Did I mention that this was an extremely fun crowd?
Now, about that special guest…
Well hello Nelly! Nice to see you too. Sorry I’m totally up in your face right about now, but the crowd wants to touch you and I’m in their way. Sure, my five foot two self would be happy to play bouncer for the evening!
Nelly kicked ass. He did a good 45 minute song set of just about every one of his big hits. Linsey and Cliff even sang along.
Get it girl.
So honored to have been a part of this fun day! I mean so fun. You guys rock! Love, Liz and Meredith
