Cathleen and Michael win the award for my favorite invitations and pattern use so far this year (and yes, that’s saying a lot!) I love the yellows and greys and the fact that their quirky style as a couple was totally represented in their wedding. The flowers that Lisa at Belli Fiori made were drop dead gorgeous….let’s face it, I love succulents. I loved them before Pinterest and Style Me Pretty loved them, and I will continue to love them long after they’ve gone out of style! We began the day at the Drury by the Arch and I must say, a first for me, arrived to find that the room has no window! I have never been in a hotel room with no window… it opens to the center of the hotel into an atrium. Lovely, but it presented a bit of a problem for me, as a photographer…no light coming in. SO I promptly dragged a table and all of Cathleen’s lovely little details into the hallway and photographed them there. And yes… I even talked Cathleen into getting zipped into her gown and getting ready out there (thanks Cathleen for just blindly doing what I wanted!!) Then we were off for photos at the Park and on to the Mad Art Gallery for the ceremony and reception.
See? from the beginning it’s personal… Cathleen is anti-diamond, so her ring can also serve as her “something blue”!
a bride in the hallway! I stand firm that the window light was totally worth it.
very cool paper goods
a cake knife that has been getting engraved with all the family members who get married…. they had to go on the back! AND as the favor for the guests Michael home brewed & labeled several types of beer (very tasty, if I may say so myself!)
what groom doesn’t need a little touch up from Mom?!?
too much time left unattended & the groomsmen grow restless… they were cart surfing, grabbing snacks, and all manner of shenanigans.
we did the first look just outside the hotel and it was a bit like a wind tunnel… I have a few photos where Michael’s hair is plastered straight back!
I think they’re happy. It’s hard to tell… HA!
